We build the systems, then we stay and run them
ScaleUp is a technology company working end to end: custom software, cloud platforms, applied AI, data infrastructure, and the specialist teams to operate what we deliver. Most of our work starts with a system somebody else built and nobody wants to touch.
A firm built around finishing things
We started because too many companies were carrying software that half worked: a platform mid-migration, an integration that fails quietly at month end, a reporting stack nobody trusts. The engineering was rarely the hard part. The hard part was somebody owning the problem until it was genuinely closed.
So the company is organised around that. Engagements are staffed by people who stay on them. We write down what we are going to do, in what order, and what it will cost, and we report against that plan every week — including the weeks where the news is bad. When a piece of work goes live, we are usually still on it six months later, which is a strong incentive to build it properly the first time.
We take on work across 13 services and 6 industries, and we are equally clear about where we are not the right firm. If your problem needs a specialist we are not, we will say so at the first call rather than at the third invoice.
Mission and vision
Our mission
To give companies technology they can rely on — systems that make the business quicker to run, cheaper to operate and easier to change than they were the year before.
Our vision
To be the firm companies call first when the technology decision actually matters, chosen for judgement and follow-through rather than for the pitch.
Six things we hold ourselves to
Client partnership
We work inside your team rather than alongside it — same standups, same backlog, same targets. Most of our engagements run past the first year, because the second is usually where the compounding shows up.
Considered adoption
A technology earns its place by solving a problem you actually have. New tools get proven on a contained piece of work before they go anywhere near a system you depend on.
Engineering standards
Review, tests and documentation are inside the estimate, not an optional line item. What we hand over should be maintainable by an engineer who has never met us.
Working in the open
Decisions are written down with their trade-offs attached. Your engineers should be able to challenge ours and win the argument when they are right.
Straight answers
If a project is the wrong idea, we say so before the contract is signed. Estimates are honest ranges, and you hear about a change to one the week it happens rather than at the review.
Change without drama
Scope moves. We plan in short increments and keep the architecture loose where the requirements are still soft, so a change of direction costs a sprint rather than a quarter.
