Engineers who join your team, not a project you hand over
The roles that hold up delivery are the ones the market has priced out of reach: AWS solutions architects, data engineers, ML engineers with production experience, cloud security specialists. Hiring one takes three to six months if it happens at all. We place vetted people directly into your team — your backlog, your standups, your code review standards — with meaningful overlap on your working day, onboarded in days rather than weeks, and replaced at our cost if the fit is wrong.
What we bring to Staff Augmentation
Augmentation, not outsourced delivery
Our engineers work to your priorities under your technical leadership. They attend your ceremonies, commit to your repositories and are accountable to your definition of done. If what you want is a team that owns an outcome end to end and reports on milestones, that is a different contract and we will tell you so rather than dressing one up as the other.
The roles that are hardest to hire
Cloud architecture, data engineering and applied ML are where local hiring stalls longest and costs most. Those are the roles we keep the deepest bench for, and the ones where a good placement changes a delivery date measurably rather than marginally.
Time-zone overlap is the real selection criterion
Skill is table stakes; overlap decides whether the placement works. We match against your core hours and hold to a minimum of four hours of shared working time so questions get answered the same day. A brilliant engineer twelve hours out of phase turns every clarification into a lost day.
Two-week trial, replacement at our cost
You interview and you decide, and you still might get it wrong — everybody does occasionally. Individual placements run a two-week trial, and if the fit is wrong we replace the person and carry the cost of the changeover. Nobody should be arguing about an invoice for a placement that was not working.
IP and access settled before day one
All work product assigns to you contractually from the first commit. Engineers work on managed machines with least-privilege access into your systems, sign your confidentiality and security terms, and complete your vendor assessment. Access is provisioned per person and revoked the day the engagement ends.
What our Staff Augmentation covers
Cloud & infrastructure engineers
AWS solutions architects for multi-availability-zone design and cost optimisation, DevOps engineers building CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code, and cloud security specialists covering IAM, governance and audit readiness. The most requested and the hardest to hire directly.
Software engineers
Full-stack developers across React, Node.js and Python, backend engineers specialising in microservices, API design and data modelling, and mobile developers working native or cross-platform in React Native and Flutter.
AI & data specialists
Machine learning engineers who have deployed and maintained models rather than only trained them, data engineers building pipelines, warehouses and lakes, and AI consultants to advise on where the technology actually fits before you commit a roadmap to it.
Security & compliance specialists
Security architects designing zero-trust frameworks and running risk assessments, penetration testers for vulnerability work and remediation, and compliance specialists who have taken organisations through SOC 2, GDPR and HIPAA requirements.
Dedicated teams
A pre-assembled group who have delivered together before, with a technical lead and delivery management included. Faster than assembling individuals when you need a whole capability rather than a specific gap, and it scales up or down at the team level.
Enterprise programmes
Larger, longer engagements with a dedicated account manager, agreed SLAs, volume pricing and priority access to the bench. Suited to organisations running several augmented workstreams at once who need one commercial relationship rather than a dozen.
The engagement, step by step
- 01
Requirements analysis
A working session on the technical requirement, the team it slots into and the seniority the work genuinely needs. We push back where a role is specified as one person doing three jobs, because those searches produce candidates who satisfy the job description and fail the actual role.
- 02
Candidate shortlist
Pre-screened candidates with portfolios, references and a written note on where each is strong and where they are not. Typically three profiles within a week, not twenty CVs for you to filter.
- 03
Technical interview
You interview and you decide. We support the evaluation and can supply a technical assessment, but nobody joins your team because we vouched for them and you never spoke to them.
- 04
Onboarding measured in days
Access, tooling, security briefing and process context are arranged as soon as you select someone, so the first week is spent shipping something small rather than waiting on credentials.
- 05
Ongoing support & review
A monthly check-in with you and with the engineer, covering fit, workload and whether the role has drifted from what was scoped. Problems surface here early enough to fix, which is the point of anyone being in the middle at all.

Why teams choose us for Staff Augmentation
You interview, you decide
We shortlist and we advise, but the hiring decision is yours and always has been. Nobody is allocated to your team on our judgement alone.
Contribution without the ramp
Experienced people who have worked in similar stacks contribute inside the first fortnight rather than the first quarter — which is most of the reason augmentation beats hiring when a deadline is already fixed.
Knowledge stays behind
Documentation, pairing and handover are part of the engagement, not a favour at the end. Your permanent team should be more capable after a placement ends, otherwise you have rented output and learned nothing.
Scale down without a redundancy process
Roll off at the end of a notice period when the project ends or the priority moves. You carry none of the employment overhead of a permanent hire you may not need in nine months.
Staff Augmentation questions, answered

Rates depend on role and seniority — cloud architects and applied ML engineers sit well above general application developers, and a dedicated team with a technical lead and delivery management included is priced differently again from a single specialist. We quote against the specific roles and the commitment length rather than publishing a rate card that would be wrong for most of the people reading it. Ask and you will get a figure in the first conversation.
Tell us which role has been open too long
The cloud architect, the data engineer, the DevOps hire that has been on the plan since spring. Send us the requirement and we will come back with three profiles, honest rates and what each person would be able to pick up in their first fortnight.
